The LONGEST Spring Break in history is finally coming to a close and all I have to say is “Bring on the new school year!” The girls and I finished our shopping last weekend to grab some back to school essentials with Dick’s Sporting Goods and I can’t believe how easy it was. Dick’s has always been one of my go-to places for all things sports-related, but in the past year or so, they’ve really stepped up their game to include tons of lifestyle pieces making it a one-stop shop for the entire family. Today, I’m highlighting some of my favorite products from there including some awesome lifestyle apparel brands, accessories, and fun activities to keep your kids active all year long.
APPAREL / FOOTWEAR
Whether your kids are doing in-person learning this year or going the virtual route, dressing them for success is a foolproof way to start the year off right. Dick’s Sporting Goods carries a ton of name brand lines including Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Champion, and Reebok, but did you know they also carry some amazing off-the-field styles as well? They even have their own exclusive line called DSG and it’s pretty awesome. Not only are the pieces great price points, but the quality is amazing and sizes range from XXS thru XXL for youths. On top of that, they have a “GEAR UP. GIVE BACK” mission where 1% of every DSG purchase goes to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation to help save youth sports in our local communities.
Both girls picked out their favorite DSG pieces and I love them both! Marli’s soccer top is less than $10 and her shorts are $12.99. I love how thick the waistband is and all the prints available. Matea is decked out in DSG from head to toe and that tank top says it all – ATTITUDE EVERYTHING. Her top & shorts are also less than $10 each and these shoes are her new favorite pair! They remind me of Native slip on shoes without the hefty price tag. This pink marble print is less than $10 and also comes in a green/gray marble color. If you’re looking for other footwear brands kids, teens, and young adults are loving right now, you can’t go wrong with the wide selection of Crocs, Vans, and Birkenstocks they have in stock.
For all my fellow mamas, lady friends, and fitness enthusiasts looking for a super high quality brand without breaking the bank, you have to check out Carrie Underwood’s active lifestyle brand, CALIA, available at Dick’s. I’ve known about her line for a couple years now and the quality is spot on. As a mom of 2 who stresses the importance of making time for yourself, she wanted to create a line that speaks to women just like her. And she nailed it.
She has tons of activewear you can workout in, but I LOVE her athleisure pieces. As someone who enjoys wearing sporty, comfortable clothes 99% of the time, her outfits make me feel like they were made just for me. My ribbed tank top comes in 11 colors, is on sale for $24.50, and is a staple in my wardrobe. And, this Anywhere Woven Core Skort, originally $50, is currently on sale for $35. The drawstring is really flexible, the length is perfect, and it has pockets. Yes!
ACCESSORIES
A new school year means new backpacks and accessories for everyone! When I tell you there’s no shortage of back to school essentials with Dick’s Sporting Goods, I wasn’t kidding. During our shopping trip, we stocked up on backpacks, lunch kits, water bottles, hair accessories, masks, and hats. Marli & Matea’s DSG Voyager Backpacks were less than $15 each and includes a cute little pencil bag. Here are the matching lunch boxes on sale for less than $12.
Since every kid is required to carry water bottles in their classroom, I made sure to get them each a Hydro Flask to use throughout the day. I even got stickers so they can personalize their own bottle. Don’t worry – I didn’t forget to treat myself to a little something special. This YETI tumbler has been perfect for Mommy Wine Time. They have such a great selection of brands at all price points so you’ll be able to find something within your budget.
FUN AT-HOME PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
This year’s P.E. class is going to rock because I stocked up on SO many sporting goods and fun activities keep these energizer bunnies active, engaged, and happy. For soccer, I’m helping the girls improve their skills with this neat Solo Soccer Trainer they can use inside or outdoors. If your little one is just starting off, Dick’s offers several Youth Soccer Packages to choose from. Each starter kit includes a soccer ball, cleats, and shin guards and, when purchased together, you save money. I also purchased a few rackets and balls and the girls have LOVED playing tennis! These junior rackets were only $20 each and comes in several colors.
If you guys are looking for creative games to play, kickball and this OgoSport OGODISK-XS® Game Set are always a hit in our house. You can use the disks alone to play frisbee or with the Ogosoft balls to play catch. I also picked up this Quick Ladder for my workouts, but I know my girls will be using it to create fun obstacle courses.
Speaking of obstacle courses, are your kids as obsessed with games like Floor is Lava and American Ninja as mine are? I just ordered this stepping stone set for them and know these 12-pack cones will definitely come in handy. Dick’s Sporting Goods also carries some exciting American Ninja Warrior products like this complete set for $69.99 and this Hop Ball set for less than $35.
No matter what school may look like this year, I’m so thankful we have everything we need to make it fun and successful. Getting our back to school essentials with Dick’s Sporting Goods was so effortless with their one-stop shop, multiple shopping options, and wonderful customer service. You can shop in-store, online, or use their 1-hour curbside contactless service. It’s that easy. And, by signing up for their free rewards program, you earn scoreboard points every time you shop!
