Guess what tonight is? It’s Make Your Own Pizza Night with Mutti® Sauces for Pizza, and we’re all pretty excited. DIY family nights are always a hit in our house because the girls get to create their own dinner and I get a break from cooking. What a winning combination! There isn’t much work that goes into a make your own pizza night, but prepping is key. That’s why I use the Randalls Mobile App to make shopping a breeze. I can make my grocery list, check for great deals, and set up pick up/delivery services with the touch of a button. It’s so easy and quick to do.
To create the perfect Build It Yourself Pizza Station, you need a few key ingredients. Let’s start with the 2 most important components – the crust and pizza sauce.
CRUST: You can certainly create your own dough, but we love pre-made ones because hello—so much easier. There are SO many types to choose from depending on your cravings or dietary restrictions. Thick crust, thin crust, multi-grain, cauliflower, flatbread, gluten-free…you get the point. Make sure to purchase a couple different options and include miniature-sized crusts if you have little ones. That way, they can create several mini pizzas if they want.
PIZZA SAUCE: We all know sauce is EVERYTHING when it comes to good pizza, which is why we love Mutti®. This brand has been around since 1899, making it Italy’s #1 tomato brand company. The flavorful, vibrant aromas that come out of every jar is mouthwatering. They use only the freshest ingredients in their sauces and you can definitely tell. For our pizza night, I got these 3 Mutti® sauces at Randalls for the family:
- Mutti® Parma Sauce for Pizza (Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese) – If cheese is your love language, you’ll enjoy this rich sauce. It’s filled with aged tomatoes and aged Parmigiano Reggiano DOP cheese.
- Mutti® Napoli Sauce for Pizza (Fresh Basil & Extra Virgin Olive Oil) – If you love a good Margherita pizza, this has your name written all over it. This is a wonderful blend of ripened tomatoes and fresh basil.
- Mutti® Positano Sauce for Pizza (Garlic & Oregano) – With bursts of savory garlic and oregano with every bite, this sauce will transport you to the coasts of Amalfi where this sauce was inspired. So delicious!
TOPPINGS: Now, for the the toppings. What do you like to include on your pizza? For us, it’s usually a combination of protein, veggies, and probably a lot of cheese for the girls. To make things organized, I like creating boards for each group, so everyone knows what their options are. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Protein: Turkey Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Ham, Diced Chicken, and Crumbled Bacon
- Cheese: Mozzarella (shredded or fresh), Cheddar, Aged Havarti, Provolone, Feta, Goat Cheese, Parmesan
- Vegetables: Bell Peppers, Roasted Red Peppers, Sweet Onions, Olives, Banana Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes, Spinach, Arugula, Fresh Basil, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Corn, Brussel Sprouts
Now the real fun starts. Once your setup is complete, let the kids get creative with their pizzas. It’s always a blast watching them “cook,” but even more exciting to watch them light up at the finished product. The next time you want an easy, but tasty home cooked dinner without all the fuss, make it a DIY pizza night with the family. Promise you won’t regret it!
