My parents watched Marli for a couple hours on Saturday so we could have a dinner date. I recently dined at Dish Society, a new local spot, for my friend’s dinner party and enjoyed it so much I wanted my husband to try it out….at least before I posted this 🙂 (Spoiler: He LOVED the place so we will definitely be back.)
The new restaurant is located on the ground floor of an apartment/loft building near the intersection of Chimney Rock and San Felipe and it’s got a cool and casual urban/industrial feel to it because of the architecture. Their concept is simple – farm-to-table with a goal to source most of their ingredients/products locally which is pretty neat. Although we went for dinner, they also offer a breakfast, lunch, brunch, and HH menu. (Breakfast and Lunch is ordered at the counter and Dinner is a traditional sit-down style.)
I would LOVE to visit for breakfast and brunch soon, but I wanted to share some of the dishes I had/tried for my local Houstonians to know about. Although I went for dinner both times, I think a lot of the dinner dishes are also lunch dishes as well 🙂 ***WARNING: The pictures below may cause severe hunger and salivation.***
APPETIZERS: I liked both of these appetizers, although the fries weren’t as crunchy as I had hoped, but I think it was because they are a thicker cut. (I might ask them to fry it a little longer next time). Not shown here were the pretzels and queso…and it was pretty damn good. I didn’t even get a chance to snap a photo before we all devoured it.

I was able to grab a few bites of the Shrimp & Grits dish below and would love to order this next time I visit for dinner. The dish was rich and very filling. It was DELICIOUS…and I love the added bacon sprinkles on top. 🙂
I was HOPING to have room for dessert, but that was a no-go. We did.however, grab a cappuccino with a splash of vanilla and it was the perfect ending to our meal. 🙂 Thanks for reading and if you decide to visit, let me know what dish you are loving so I can try it! Have a hungry and happy Monday lovelies!
