Today, I wanted to talk about my go-to beauty products for skincare. Now, I am no makeup/beauty product expert. On the contrary, I am rather boring when it comes to this area. I tend to stick with what works for me and rarely change it up unless the new product is uhhh-mazing. Since having Marli, I have completely changed up my skin regiment since my skin is so so so sensitive now. I break out on a whim and those stubborn blemishes feel like they take so much longer to heal. Plus, anything to help keep the wrinkles away is a winner for me. Any new mommies feeling me on this? Now, I make sure to spend a little more money for quality products that will nourish my skin for the long run ๐
That’s me sans makeup ๐ And, those are the products I am currently using….can you tell I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kiehl’s???
|
I have an Olay brush which I use on a daily basis. In the summer time, I use it morning and night, but in the fall/winter, I only use it at night (and hand wash my face in the morning). I have been meaning to upgrade to the Clarisonic (which I am sure I am the ONLY person in the world who doesn’t own one), but this one currently works pretty well for me ๐
For cleansers, I alternate between the Cetaphil Cleanser and the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. I love both, but the Cetaphil is definitely more affordable. It doesn’t dry out my skin and cleans it pretty well. I will say that the Kiehl’s Cleanser lasted me for almost 6 months so it is still well worth the money! With that being said, I always wash my face TWICE (once by hand in the showers and the 2nd time with my brush). Don’t get that confused with scrubbing or being harsh on your skin. The 1st time is usually just to get a lot of the dirt and makeup off (since I don’t use a makeup removal cloth/wipe).

I also use Kiehl’s Skin Brightening Exfoliator (pictured above) twice a week after my regular cleanse. I LOVE this stuff and it was recommended to me by a good friend. It has definitely helped with healing blemishes, not to mention this brighter glow after I use it. The beads are tiny so it isn’t harsh on your skin. This one tube alone lasted me 8 months so a little goes a long way. And remember this great DIY I posted a few weeks ago? I’ve been incorporating this coconut coffee scrub into my routine once a week now that my skin is drier because of the weather. I use it on my body all the time and it’s amazing, but I am EXTRA gentle when I use it on my face because of the big coffee grounds and sugar granules. The coconut oil leaves this layer of moisture on my skin that I really love and when I use this, I don’t use any other moisturizers/creams with it. |
For my to-go moisturizers, I have been using Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Moisturizer in the daytime which is great for my oily/combo skin in the summer time. However, with cooler weather here, I will be switching to Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream making sure to using it sparingly (otherwise it’ll be super greasy on me).
At night, I use one pump of Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate and three drops of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I had a hard time paying for them because it was $58 for the line reducing concentrate (1.7 oz) and $46 for the midnight recovery (1 oz), but I swear it is totally worth it! A little goes such a long way. The line reducing concentrate lasted me for almost 9 months and I am STILL using my midnight recovery concentrate from Dec 2013 (and I think I still have 1/3 bottle left).
Hope this helps and I’d love to hear what products you are currently loving! Any good eye cream recommendations? I am SUPER sensitive in this area so any tips would be appreciated ๐

Hi Linh! ove this post and must try that body scrub recipe! I was JUST feeling like my skin was being so neglected and decided to up my skincare products/regimine last week! Since Kaitlyn, for sure my routine was really pared down and I was kind of scrimping on things for myself. Fast forward to a few zoomed photos and I realized I would be paying for it in the long run with fine lines and wrinkles soon if I didn’t make a change. I went back to Shiseido (my go-to line whenever my SUPER sensitive skin acts up) and bought a few new products, including this new Ultimune Immunity Concentrate. I’ve also reintroduced using toner and a weekly hydrating mask and I’ve seen some improvement already. No doubt just from some more product and attention alone. ๐ I also use their Benefiance Eye Cream when I’m feeling dry or fine lines creeping (which I really ought to do every night). I’ll have to check out that Kiehl’s Skin Brightening Exfoliator and and those concentrates! I’ve only tried some lotions and creams from Keihl’s before, but they never seemed to really smooth my dry skin.
