Welcome to another post of The Stylish Mommy Uniform where I post 1-2 mommy uniform outfit ideas a month for my fellow mommies and guess what – no yoga pants are allowed!
All the looks will be stylish, trendy, comfortable, and most importantly, take almost no time to put together since I’m throwing my outfits together in 10 minutes or less most of the time.
Today I’m pulling one from the archives since I’ve pretty much been on house arrest the past 6 weeks because post-baby recovery has been tough. This was actually the very last outfit I wore at 37.5 weeks of my pregnancy before Baby Matea received her eviction notice. Ha! Still can’t believe I’m a mommy to 2 girls! Seeing these pictures is making me miss my belly already!
Sometimes keeping things simple is the way to go. Less is more, right? That’s exactly what I did here so ladies – when in doubt, wear black. It’s slimming, flattering, and so easy to “dress” up with accessories.
I have on an off-the-shoulder tunic and a pair of BeMaternity leggings I purchased from Target. I simply added a tassle necklace from my wardrobe and made the focus all about the outerwear.
My obsession for buffalo plaid runs deep and this trend was SO popular last season! I have a feeling it’ll stick around for a while so when I saw this quilted vest from Old Navy, I had to have it.
This pattern gave my mom uniform a pop of color and some personality to complete my look. It’s no longer available online, but HERE is a similar style from J. Crew.
With this unpredictable Houston weather, the vest was the perfect thin layer I needed to keep me warm without the added bulk. Ladies, don’t think the quilted vest is ONLY for Fall/Winter! You could easily switch out the long sleeves for a cute v-neck white tee like our Strong As A Mother Tee paired with a cute necklace for a transitional Spring look.
