Darlings, happy Monday! How was your Father’s Day weekend celebration? My parents were so kind to babysit Marli Saturday evening so I could take my husband out for a surprise date/Father’s Day celebration. Needless to say, he was totally surprised 🙂
We celebrated Father’s Day by dining at Ouisie’s for dinner. It was my first time there and the place was beautiful. The restaurant had high ceilings, dim lights, hanging chandeliers, and a very elegant rustic feel to it. I made reservations for 5:45pm and upon arrival, they sat us right away. Hardly anyone was there and we sat in a cozy spot which was perfect for us. Service was impeccable and the server gave some great options and suggestions on the menu 🙂 Gotta love that.
We started with the crab tower and a side caesar salad. Delish! The crab tower had a mango salsa pairing which was nice and refreshing.
Hubby had the rainbow trout with mash potatoes and grilled asparagus which he loved and I had shrimp and grits. I’m not a huge fan of grits, but dang…this dish was YUMMY! (They are known for their shrimp and grits and chicken fried steak dishes so I knew I had to try one of these. They did not disappoint!)
We didn’t have time for dessert, but their selection was no joke…maybe next time! After dinner, I told him we were going to see a movie…in a REAL theater…whoa. No redboxing it tonight baby. He was elated. Haha. To some of you, that may sound lame or no biggie, but for all of you new parents, you can totally feel me on that. It’s CRAZY how much we took for granted when we were married without a baby. Now, it’s the SMALLEST things that give us the most pleasure, right? We saw X-men. Good movie.
On Sunday after church, Marli gave her Daddy her gift. I mean…too cute to put into words. I helped her write on the card, but the beautiful coloring was all her. He loved it…and so did she.
Seeing her tiny feet by his just melts my heart…and the kisses were ENDLESS yesterday! 🙂 She sure loves her Dada. To a wonderful husband, an amazing man, and the best baby daddy a woman could ask for. Thanks for being my rock, baby!
