PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT: Here’s my guess on her stats: Height: 33.5 in. | Weight: 27 lbs.
CLOTHING: She wears 2T now and some 3T in certain brands | Shoes are size 7 | Still wearing size 4 diapers
SCHEDULE: We’ve tweaked her schedule a little since she’s drinking less milk now. This is a typical day:
8am: 8oz whole milk + breakfast
930am: snack (usually carbs of some sort like toast or crackers, fruit, cheese)
1130am: lunch
1230pm: naptime
3pm: 8oz milk + snack
530pm: dinner
7-830pm: bath, playtime, and read (usually in that order) + a light snack
830pm: brush teeth, change diaper, pray, and sleep
Marli was CRAY CRAY during bedtime last week and we FINALLY figured out why. For some reason, she refuses to sleep with the door shut now. Every time we say “naptime” or “sleep” she always replies with “door” to remind us to keep it open. Haha Any mamas going through the same thing? We’ve always had a nightlight in her room so I’m not sure if she’s afraid of the dark, but maybe she is afraid of being alone….or a combo of both. She’s always been a great sleeper and we’ve always shut her door (up until a week ago). I know she is great about staying close to me when we’re at home (meaning if I’m in the living room, she will never go into our bedroom alone).
PLAY TIME: My goodness, anything that involves singing, music, dancing, bubbles, or sand will win her over. Her favorite song to dance to is Rockin’ Robin. She loves to make movements to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat, and Wheels on the Bus. And EVERY TIME we get in the car, we always listen to the “Happy” song (which is “If You’re Happy and You Know It)….like 50+ times. And my latest tactic to get her to brush her teeth is singing the Little Mermaid song. haha
EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT: I’ve kept the Terrible Two’s at bay this past month (Thank you Jesus!) and I would say we only had maybe 2 bad days. I feel like Marli catches on to things so fast so I make sure to always explain things to her and repeat repeat repeat! When she gets in trouble or defiantly tells me “no,” I always give her 5-10 seconds of silence so she can think about it and then I’ll ask her again. Literally, though, you can tell she is thinking because her eyes will get SUPER big and she will look down or side to side. It’s hilarious.
I think her personality is really blossoming and she’s less shy around strangers. She always says hi to random strangers when we’re out and smile. Even if she is a little shy, she will be really playful, but not directly to them…more like a tease and it’s cute.

She is the sweetest! Oh how fun those terrible twos are! My son is almost 2 1/2 and I have heard 3 is worse (I can’t believe that’s right). At the same time I love the little characters they become and all the funny and weird things they pick up! It’s so amazing, isn’t it!? My son is the same way, all of a sudden he wanted the door opened with the lamp on.
