The weather in Houston couldn’t have been more perfect this past weekend so we spent a lot of time outdoors. On Friday, I took Marli shopping with me so I could pick up a few things for her Valentine’s Day gift. We purchased her this 2-in-1 swing, a cute Frozen shirt from Target, and a paint set.
I had my father set up the swing on our patio Saturday morning and it was the BEST surprise ever! She loves playing on the swing and slide when we take her to the playground so I knew she’d enjoy this. Plus, this one was really affordable (about $27 at Toys’R’Us), easy to take down/move, and converts to a bigger kid swing for when she gets older.
She also loved her Frozen shirt…the girl is OBSESSED with this movie! I purchased this top for her in an XS GIRL’S size…what?!?!?! (She’s only 23 months!) Except for the sleeves being way too long, the length of the top is perfect for her.
And, last but not least, she absolutely LOVED her paint set! This was her first time playing with paint and this kept her busy for almost 2 hours! She made a few paintings and I can’t wait to hang them up in our house. :)
On Saturday, we made some homemade red velvet cupcakes after I came back from the gym and they turned out so good! We enjoyed a great lunch at Yard House in City Centre followed by some playtime on the turf before heading home. There’s my little Valentine ๐
I ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich w/ truffle fries (pic shown) and my hubby ordered the Cuban Roast Pork Dip w/ sweet potato fries (sorry, forgot to take a pic of it)…both were AMAZING! Highly recommend them both ๐
For Valentine’s Day, we originally planned to have my parents babysit so we could revisit Damian’s, a great Italian spot in Downtown Houston, but things didn’t quite work out so my hubby went to Plan B. ๐ He’s the sweetest guy ever. He came home with a cute stuffed animal and card for Miss M and gave me beautiful flowers and the sweetest card/note ever.
That night, he cooked us an AMAZING homemade Italian dinner fit for a queen and princess ๐ Lean Turkey Stuffed Shells and Italian Flavored Ribs. Yum yum yum!!!! I will have to make these shells again and post a recipe on it. It was really the perfect weekend ๐

What a fabulous Valentine’s weekend! We drove past Damien’s on Saturday and I told my husband we needed to try it. Do you recommend it? Aren’t littles just adorable when they paint?! It opens a whole new world of creativity to them and they create such great art pieces!

Looks like you all had a blast — I especially love all the paintings. I love letting my son paint on canvas, they always look so much better than mine lol I try hard and he just lets the paint brush flow. Fun times with kiddos ๐
