I LOVE January 1st for so many reasons, but this year was super special because Toko and I celebrated our 5-year anniversary! We were married on January 1st, 2011 (1.1.11) and I know that’s a date we’ll never forget. My parents watched Marli for a few hours so we could have an intimate date night at Eddie V’s (one of our favorite spots) to celebrate and it was so perfect.
We both answered some questions about each other for fun so I hope you enjoy reading it!
(Sorry in advance for the mediocre photo quality from our night – the lighting was tough!)
HE SAID: Sense of Humor, Hearty Appetite, Passion for Family
SHE SAID: Your love for God, your strong work ethic, and how charismatic you were when we met
2. Your favorite dating memory of us so far?
HE SAID: All our trips to Mexico
SHE SAID: I have 2 – Our 1st trip to Ixtapa, Mexico and our 1st Valentine’s Day together when we stayed in and you cooked me a great 3-course meal from scratch. Poor thing was sweating like a maniac in the kitchen, but it was by far the most amazing meal I had ever had.
3. Your favorite physical features of me (up to 3)?
HE SAID: Height, Lips, Butt
SHE SAID: Your smile and all the wrinkles that come with it, your strong hands, and your pectoral muscles (haha!)
4. Favorite personality trait of me?
HE SAID: Patience, Easy Going Attitude SHE SAID: You are so driven and ambitious, always trying to be the best at what you do and being around that every day pushes me to do better as well. 5. What food reminds you of me? 6. I resemble what actor/actress to you? |
HE SAID: jeans or short shorts and an IAR T-shirt
SHE SAID: Nothing (haha!); you know I love a man in a good tailored suit, but I also love it when you wear henleys and rugged jeans
8. What drives you crazy about me?
HE SAID: Procrastination
SHE SAID: You’re as stubborn as a mule!
9. Name 1 weakness of mine that is your strength.
HE SAID: Relentlessness
SHE SAID: I’m more passive and like to avoid confrontation as most costs. You like to address problems as they happen and I know that is crucial for a healthy marriage – good and strong communication.
10. What have you learned from me in the past 5 years? (Up to 3 things) HE SAID: 1. It’s OK to give up Control / I can’t Control everything 2. How to be a better Father because you’re such a great Mother 3. Being a husband is more about succeeding in my own work. SHE SAID: (1) You’ve showed me what it’s like to be loved unconditionally – for all my flaws and imperfections – because at the end of each day, you still choose me. (2) I’ve learned to be a stronger wife, mother, and woman because of you. You’re always pushing me to do/be better, to stand up for myself and my beliefs, and be more confident in myself. (3) I have learned how much of a sap you really are when I see you with Marli. Marli is turning into a Daddy’s girl and I can’t even imagine what it will be like when our 2nd baby girl arrives in Feb. (4) This one’s a bonus – you showed me that people ARE capable of change because YOU became a Belieber at the end of this year! (Sorry, baby – the secret is out. Ha!) |

This is one of the sweetest posts i’ve ever read! I love seeing couples interacting with one another and reading what they have to say about each other. There’s nothing better than a real life love story!
