Well, this has been the longest shortest week ever. Matea and I have been battling the yuckiest cold so I have been super quiet on social media and my blog. I’m praying we both get better before Sunday because Marli and I are leaving for SoCal for a few days. If any mamas have tips for helping a sick babe get through a tough cold, let me know! The nights are the worst because she is constantly waking up from her stuffy nose.
Any who, on to today’s post. I love a good chambray shirt, don’t you? It’s a great staple piece to have in your closet and can be worn so many ways. Adding a cute blazer to this outfit would be perfect for Fall, but because the temps are still in the low 90s here, I opted out of the layering for now. I paired my chambray shirt with a pair of pixie ankle pants from Old Navy and ankle strap heels to get this street chic style. Because this shirt is a bit longer, I only did the half tuck in the front so you could see the cute split tail detail in the back. This Kenneth Cole chambray shirt isn’t available, BUT I found some other adorable options that are on trend for this year. I linked them below – the lace top and off the shoulder are probably my favorite two!

While I’m sure there are tons of inspiration on how to style a chambray shirt for every day wear, I wanted to show you 3 other great ways to dress it up for the holidays. Which girl are you?
3 GREAT WAYS TO ROCK A CHAMBRAY SHIRT FOR THE HOLIDAYS
(1) FOR THE PARTY GOER – If you’re looking to throw a little fun into your life, sequins and glitter are the way to go. With holiday parties just around the corner, adding a little sparkle in your life is the perfect way to dress up your chambray shirt. Think skirts, shorts, or a rockin’ sequin jacket (if you’re lucky enough to find a good one).
(2) FOR THE CLASSY GAL – Chambray shirts + pencil skirts are a winning combination so if you can find a lace pencil skirt to compliment your look, you’ll knock this classic look out of the park.
(3) FOR THE WHIMSICAL GIRLIE GIRL – Nothing screams girlie, fun, and holiday like adding a chambray shirt with a great tulle skirt. I might have to add this for our holiday photos!
Thanks so much by stopping by, lovelies! Off to grab another cup of coffee before picking up Miss Marli.

To be honest, I’ve never even heard of a chambray shirt. To me they are all just shirts – but this looks amazing. I love how you paired it and those shoes look amazing.
I like these ideas – I never would have thought to pair this with a tulle skirt. Hm… idears!!!
Thanks darling!

Thanks so much for the comment Chel! A chambray shirt is very similar to a denim shirt but way softer. It’s typically more casual but you can definitely dress it up. Hope this gave you some ideas 🙂

What a pretty look! I love that it can be transitional from summer to fall because here in Georgia it’s chilly in the morning and 80’s by the afternoon so i’m always changing clothes!

I absolutely love chambray shirts! I love how you’ve styled it here – so chic, yet casual.
My favourite way to wear chambray is tucked in to a pair of white lace shorts, topped with a brown belt and gladiator sandals. 🙂
