Happy Sunday, loves! This week has so busy. We flew back in town late Wednesday night from our California trip and needless to say, we are still trying to adjust back into our normal routine. Plus, having major Cali weather withdrawals isn’t helping much. Marli and I had the best time on our trip and it really got me thinking about being present with my girls.
While I really enjoy blogging and feeling connected via social media, it was really nice to unplug from it all. You see, blogging isn’t a 9-5 Mon-Fri job. It doesn’t close shop for the weekend. Your mind (or at least mine doesn’t) stop thinking of new ideas, inspiration, etc. to post. It is always ON. And lately, the unnecessary stress from feeling like I had to post every day or at a certain time was consuming me. So, I knew it was time to take a little break.
During our trip, I posted a few things on Instagram, but other than that, I was actually LIVING these moments and BEING PRESENT with my family and you know what – it was the BEST feeling in the world. Sometimes God works in those wonderful ways of providing you with exactly what you need at just the right time. Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by social media too? Or maybe your job? How are you being present with your loved ones?
Today I’m talking about my love for the color burgundy (aka wine, eggplant, and plum) and flare jeans. It’s no secret that I’m a little obsessed with this color for Fall and for good reason. It’s considered a universal color – meaning it looks good on anyone. Because the color falls in the middle of the color spectrum, it compliments all skin tones. I love wearing this color in the Fall because it is such a dark and rich color. I wore this Ellen Tracy tunic top to the recent Macy’s Fashion Show I attended and dressed it up HERE. I linked some other great options below and you’ll love the price points!
While I love my skinny and boyfriend jeans, I am so happy flare jeans are making a comeback! I’m a long time fan of flare jeans because they make my legs so long and lean. I love wearing my jeans with heels, but if you’d rather pair them with flats, make sure to hem them accordingly; otherwise, they’ll end up making you look even shorter than you really are.
I linked some great flare jeans below that are worth every penny. My best advice is to invest a little more in your jeans if you know you’re going to wear them ALL the time (like me). Usually the higher end brands have a better fit and quality so I don’t mind spending a little extra. Flare jeans should be fairly fitted through your knee and then subtly flare out from there. And find what works for you and your body – some like more flare than others.
