Happy Friday, loves! I am so excited for this weekend. Yesterday, I celebrated my 29th birthday (for the second time in a row – ha!) and it ended on such a great note. Our night and morning were a little rough because Matea was sick yet again. Poor thing! She just can’t catch a break. I spent most of my day giving her extra cuddles, but was able to break away for just a second to pick up a few cupcakes from Sprinkles to celebrate another year of blessings.
I am SUPER excited about tonight because we are heading out to see The Lights Festival so make sure to follow along on my Instastory. I have been dying to go and will be surprising Marli because she LOVES Tangled and always talks about the lanterns in the sky. It’s going to be a magical night! What do you have planned for this weekend?
As much as I’d love to be all cozied up my favorite sweaters and cardigans, this Houston heat just won’t quit. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the cool front that should be rolling in next week. In the mean time, let’s talk about one of my go-to weekend wear style. This street chic look is a great transitional look for Fall. As a matter of fact, every girl needs a good sleeveless trench coat on standby in her closet. This one is a great mix of the sleeveless trench coat + utility vest because the length isn’t as long as a normal trench coat. It’s such a versatile layering piece you can wear with just about every top – from sleeveless tanks to warm sweaters. My sleeveless trench coat is from Banana Republic (old), but I linked some great ones below and all of them are under $80.
My striped tank is from Target and I kid you not – I own almost EVERY SINGLE COLOR/PRINT in this basic tank. I wear them with everything! Because I have a longer torso, I never have to worry about this tank riding up on me because of the longer length. They’re originally $9, but now on clearance for $2.70! That’s cheaper than my Starbucks Iced Coffee. Anyways, I love this color combo because anything navy equals a clean and classic look. Plus, there’s something about nautical inspired styles that translates into the perfect weekend wear style.
My Coach bag and Nine West shoes aren’t available anymore, but I linked a similar version of each below. Can you tell that I love them because I wear them all the time.

If you happen to see me out and about this weekend, don’t be surprised if you see me wearing this. Have a wonderful weekend sweet friends and as always, thank you so much for reading!
