Marli & Matea’s room makeover has been a really slow process, but it’s finally starting to come together. The girls have been roomies for almost a year now and in that time period, I’ve lost count on how many times we’ve rearranged their furniture + toys. After several failed attempts, I’m happy to report that I am finally content with the layout of their room. Sadly, we had to turn my office into their playroom, but now the girls have spacious clutter-free room and that makes this mama’s heart so happy. Now I get to dive into the really fun part of their room makeover – the decor!
I’ve been searching for the perfect personalized decor piece for their room – something really special and unique that no one else could duplicate. And, if possible, I wanted this piece centered around a constellation theme because they are obsessed with the sky, planets, and stars.
When I saw this star map art poster, I knew it would be the perfect little addition to their room and I was so right! The girls absolutely love it and feel so special knowing theirs is a one-of-a-kind! They even have a favorite star that they point to each night before bed. It’s seriously so stinking cute.
Pretty much everything on the star map art poster is customized to your liking. Just to name a few, you can choose from several options for sizing, color, font styles for the title, custom messaging, and whether you want a border and constellation.
Just to give you guys an idea of what I selected, I went with the 24×36 poster size and got my RIBBA frame from IKEA. Modern Map Art also has framing options as well as a canvas option too. The quality of the poster is fantastic and after I approved the draft, the delivery was so fast! Plus, did I mention free shipping? Yay! For the color, I decided on a white poster w/ grey sky & text. I did not do the border, but I did select the constellation because I knew the girls would love enjoy discovering fun shapes on their wall art.
For the title, I asked to put their name on it using the October Twilight font. You can definitely get creative here! If this is for a baby, you can also put “The Day You Were Born” or if it’s for an anniversary, you can put “Our Anniversary,” “Mr. & Mrs.,” or “The Story of Us.” If you’re thinking more along the lines of home decor, the title could be (you family name) “The Williams Family,” “Our Home,” (place you live) “Houston, TX,” or “Bless This Home.” Seriously, these would make such amazing gifts. Plus, they other options like typography prints, state map art, and skyline art.
Lastly, I designed the messaging using the Raleway Regular font. There was plenty of room to include everything I wanted on there! I included the girls’ date + place of birth, time of delivery, weight, and a special quote for each of them.
