As a busy mom who works from home, I always get asked how I run a successful business all while taking care of my girls and I can’t help but laugh every single time. On some days, it’s a breeze. The girls play nice, listen to everything I ask them to do, and if I’m really lucky, they even take naps so I can catch my breath. These days are far and few. Most days, however, are complete and utter chaos. Anyone else relate?
I’m either answering emails in between feedings, working in a quick photo shoot while the girls play outside, or staying up late to meet a deadline. It’s so much work, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. So, what’s my secret? Lots of planning, staying flexible, and having a good morning routine. I may not be a morning person by choice, but give me 5 minutes and all of that can change.
Before everyone wakes up, I take a few minutes for myself to meditate, self-reflect, and plan my day. I started practicing this self-care tip earlier this year and what a difference it’s made! There’s something therapeutic about a peaceful home that has quickly made this time of day one of my favorite moments.
Lately, I’ve been loving the new Peet’s Espresso Capsules, which is compatible with my Nespresso machine. Small, but mighty, these capsules are packed with a rich, intense flavor – just what I need to help kick start my day. There are 4 blends to choose from, but the Crema Scura is my fave. It has a full body, nutty flavor balanced by a creamy, enduring finish that is so delicious! For those evenings when I have to work late, I even use it as a “treat” to keep myself awake. That’s totally acceptable, right? When do you feel like you need a caffeine boost?
Being an early-riser has made me so much more prepared for anything life throws at me. Even if those unexpected hiccups happen, I feel good knowing I can handle it with grace (and a bit of caffeine courage). What’s one thing you do to start your morning off right?
Below are the 4 blends from Peet’s Espresso Capsules:
- RICCHEZZA, Intensity 8: Rich with hints of berry and brown sugar
- CREME SCURA, Intensity 9: Earthy and nutty, with a creamy finish; great over ice cream
- RISTRETTO, Intensity 10: Smooth with yummy hints of spice and chocolate
- NERISSIMO, Intensity 11: Darkest blend of the 4, sweet as a brûlée topping

I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but I do find that having a cup of jo, especially on days when I know I’ll need one, makes a lot of difference in my productivity. I prefer less intense flavors, though, because I get migraines with richer ones.

Working from home is still busy, include keeping up with the kids activities, mean we do everything at once with a flexible time or more into deadline. I drink coffee before but now I like it only with morning smoothies to start the day!

I’m not big on coffee, but these blends do sound amazing. I’ll have to pass on this post to my java loving pals!
