Wanna know a secret? Our family might be growing a little bigger in 2019! Don’t worry, guys. I’m not pregnant, or at least not yet anyways. It’s just something we’ve been talking about since Matea turned 2. My husband is convinced baby #3 will be a boy, but I’m still waiting for more proof. The truth is, I would love nothing more than to raise a big family, but my hands are currently so full. These girls keep me plenty busy as it is! With that being said, my baby fever might completely take over when I welcome my baby nephew in February.
Looking back at both my pregnancies, I feel like I’ve experienced it all so my 3rd should be a walk in the park. My first pregnancy was a breeze. I had the most amazing easy delivery with Marli and the recovery time was next to nothing. Matea, on the other hand, was a different story. We scheduled her delivery via c-section because she was breeched and was measuring small. Also, the recovery time was painful and so much longer than I expected. Talk about throwing me for a loop, right? Thankfully, I remembered how calm and prepared I felt both times thanks to the wonderful experience I had at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.
During both pregnancies, I took their Prepared Childbirth Class and still rave about it to this day. If nothing else, new parents should definitely enroll in this at Woman’s in addition to the hospital tour. It made such a HUGE difference in my mental preparedness as well as my husband’s during the course of my pregnancy, delivery, and post-delivery care. The amount of knowledge you walk away with is priceless. They have several schedules to choose from depending on your availability, and if you just need a refresher course, their Mini-Childbirth Class is also great.
My instructors were part of a highly trained staff who were so welcoming and patient during our 4-week course. They thoroughly covered all the material and took the time to answer all of our questions (and trust me, there were a lot). During the hospital tour, I observed the staff at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas and was really impressed by their level of personalized care. You could tell how invested they were in each patient that walked through their doors and how they treated each woman as an individual with a unique story to tell. It’s no wonder they’ve been the premier facility in Texas for women’s healthcare for over 40 years.
