School is starting in less than 2 weeks and it’s safe to say these girls are beyond excited. Every school year brings new adventures, but this one will be extra memorable. That’s because both girls will finally be attending the same school for the first time ever! Matea will be starting PK3 and Marli is entering 1st grade. 1st grade, ya’ll! Like how did that even happen?!? We just checked off everything on our school supply list including a wardrobe refresh thanks to Gordmans. What’s better, our back-to-school shopping helped give back in a big way. Through their partnership with the No Kid Hungry Organization, 50% of sales from select items are donated back to the organization to help provide meals for the 13 million kids who struggle with hunger every single day. That’s roughly 1 in 6 children in the U.S.!
This “I’m So Egg-stra” lunch bag was one of the participating items the girls picked out in support of the partnership. Our purchase helped Gordmans donate $5 back to No Kid Hungry which will provide up to 50 meals for kids. At Marli’s school, that would have been the entire PK3 and PK4 class! Just goes to show you that small acts of kindness can have such a lasting impact on the community.
We also stocked up on some adorable outfits + staple pieces for the entire school year. With Gordmans‘ great selection on name-brand items at discounted prices, I always come home with bags of goodies for the entire family. Marli’s entire outfit was less than $25 (dress was $17 / sandals $7) and Matea’s adorable cat outfit was only $10. What I love most is how age-appropriate these looks are for school. Nothing too tight, short, or see-through. And, when Fall rolls around, they can easily throw on a cardigan and boots to stay warm.
We’re also gearing up for soccer, gymnastics, and possibly softball so comfy athletic pieces are a must. I’ve raved about this before, but Gordmans carries so many great athletic brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok, and Puma at amazing prices! It’s actually the first section I visit every time I shop there. Matea’s Nike outfit was less than $20 and is made from the best material. Marli’s look included an additional tank top and this 3-piece set cost me less than $15.
To get the girls extra excited for school, I surprised them with a school supply set from Limited Too (which was only $5.99 per kit). Aside from all the fun school accessories, they also carry a large selection of backpacks, lunch bags, and basic essentials every kid needs for school.
If you’re looking to do any last minute back-to-school shopping, Gordmans is the way to go. Not only will you save a ton, but you can donate a little bit of that towards their partnership with No Kid Hungry to help end child hunger in the US. Use the store locator to find the nearest one to you. If there isn’t one near your area, you can still help! From not until August 31st, post a photo on your Instagram feed using the hashtag #FuelKidsFutures and Gordmans will donate $1 to the No Kid Hungry Organization. Cheers to a fun and successful school year!
