I am so happy it’s Friday because this has been the longest short week ever. Marli started soccer and it’s been bananas. In addition to her piano lessons on Mondays, she now has soccer practice twice a week after school, games on Saturdays, and her baby sister, Matea, is about to begin gymnastics on Wednesdays. So, if you need me at any time after 3pm, I’ll be available in 15 years. Haha! All jokes aside, it’s been so much fun watching them grow in these activities.
Since I knew our schedule would be crazy once school started, I did a little prep work beforehand. Filling out our family calendar, stocking up on all our school supplies, buying household products in bulk, creating a weekly cleaning schedule, and most importantly, loading our pantry with healthy snacks were just a few things that have helped us be better prepared for the school year.
I also created a weekly meal chart so the girls could give suggestions on what they’d like to eat for lunch. That way, I can plan my grocery list, cut down on “boring” lunches, and give them a chance to pick and choose their meals. This has helped us a ton especially since Matea is my picky eater. With our meal chart, I have peace of mind knowing she’ll actually eat the lunches I pack for her because she “helped” me decide and all the options I give are healthy ones. It’s a win for everyone. The funny thing is that most of their suggestions are always about snacks. Go figure, right?
Luckily, I stocked our pantry with great-tasting snacks my girls would actually enjoy and these popchips have been such a hit! So much so that I’ve had to purchase the variety pack so my girls can each have their own bag for lunch. Each pack gives you 6 snack-sized bags, is less than 130 calories each, and is non-GMO with real ingredients. But, that’s not even the best part. Each variety pack comes with their two best-selling flavors – Sea Salt and BBQ, which happens to be the girls’ favorite flavors. Yay! Marli loves the tangy, smokey BBQ flavor while Matea is all about the Sea Salt taste. She loves the light, crispy texture especially paired with her favorite hummus dip.
For an after-school snack, we love doing snack trays. It’s a great way to give them a variety of healthy options – both sweet and savory. Yesterday, they had popchips, fruit, and cheese. On days when we’re crunched for time, I can even toss these in my bag and head out the door. I’d love to hear what you pack your kids for lunch each day! What are their favorite healthy snacks and do you use a meal chart for them? Comment below!
Check out all the great flavors popchips has to offer and stock up on their variety packs now. Those bellies may be small, but their appetite is mighty big! Have a great weekend, friends!

I always love healthy snack options for myself and I can image how much more I will value these options once I have kids and am focused on fueling their bodies just as much as mine. Glad to hear they are enjoying these! I’ll have to give them a try!
