Dressing Down A Sequin Dress For Everyday Wear

Morning lovelies!  Remember my slight obsession with sequin pieces over the holiday season?  Well, I’m bringing them baaaaack (for this post at least).  I recently got this stunning gold sequin evening dress from Pink Blush over the holidays and absolutely LOVED wearing it, but now that the festivities are over, I really wanted to find a way to style and incorporate it into my everyday street style wardrobe.  Do you ladies have those special pieces in your closet you wish you could wear more than once or twice a year? I’ve got a super easy and great tip for you – just throw some denim into the mix!

What I love about this sequin maxi dress is that it’s the complete package.  I don’t have to worry about adding any accessories to pull my look together (except hair and makeup) because it’s already a showstopper.  Because it’s so flashy, I wanted to “tone” it down for a slightly more casual everyday look that I could wear to church, a fun blogger event, or even girl’s night out and denim was the way to go. It also comes in 2 more colors – burgundy and black.  As always, most of Pink Blush’s pieces are also maternity friendly for all my beautiful expecting mamas out there.

A good denim jacket adds a really cool, almost edgy vibe to your dressed up look without making it look too informal. Essentially, you still get that polished look without looking like you tried too hard 🙂  But here’s the trick – you have to play around with the different styles and see what works best for your outfit.

You gals know I love my moto jackets so when I saw this one at GAP, I had to get it.  It’s from a few seasons ago, but I linked some AWESOME styles below (all price points).  Let’s just say denim jackets have come a LONG way!  All the ones I linked are different styles and I even threw in a denim vest to the mix because it was too cool not too.  Warning – you may see me wearing it with all my outfits, but for $28, can you blame me?
