This weekend is going to be CRAZY busy with my in-laws coming in town, Labor Day weekend festivities, and oh yea…my super duper awesome friend’s WEDDING! Hooooray!!! So, in preparation for all of this, I made this incredibly easy and oh-so-yummy DIY body scrub to pamper myself before the craziness starts.
I am such a HUGE fan of coconut oil and I have used it for so many things – to cook/bake, as a skin moisturizer, and even as a deep conditioning treatment for my hair – so it was a no-brainer to include this in my scrub. But, I had no idea how beneficial coffee is to your skin! Actually it’s the caffeine in the coffee that can help your skin. Not only is it a great natural exfoliant, but it contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties to reduce redness, puffy eyes and under eye circles. On top of that, it’s been said to reduce the appearance of cellulite and I know any woman can benefit from that ๐ I also added a bit of cinnamon because it plumps up the skin and aids in getting rid of acne (since my skin has been breaking out on and off all summer long). Plus, if you have eczema, adding this ingredient will do your skin good.
Below are the ingredients and steps. It took me FIVE minutes to whip together and these are all products you most likely already have around your house ๐ Make a batch and divide them up into small containers to give out as gifts or keep it all for yourself. Enjoy lovelies!
STEP TWO: After you get the consistency you desire, pour it into a container with a tight lid. You can store in the frig or keep in a cool area. I placed mine in our guest bathroom for me (and our guests to use). Easy peasy!
After my regular shower routine, I applied the scrub for a few minutes, then rinsed off. I could IMMEDIATELY feel how much smoother and softer my skin was. The oil moisturized my skin beautifully so no need for any lotion. Can’t wait to start incorporating this into my weekly beauty routine.
Have a great day RAWRs!
