I am INCREDIBLY happy with how my legs are shaping up since that’s where my fat likes to hang out. Building muscle is one thing, but it’s burning that layer of fat on top that has been killing me. In order to do that, I need to continue to push heavy weights and keep my heart rate up. Since Monday was a heavy weight kinda day, I decided to focus a little more on using my OWN BODY WEIGHT and upping the cardio for yesterday’s session.
Here is my workout yesterday using NO EQUIPMENT – just my body weight, the good ‘ole sun outside, and my driveway (which was roughly 75 feet – or 25 yards long from our garage to our gate) ๐ With EACH exercise, I repeated each one 3 times with NO rest. After each exercise set was complete, I rested for about 1 minute, then proceeded to the next set of exercises.
Remember, we are focusing on cardio today and keeping your heart rate up so push yourself! Be safe and know when to take a breather if you need to ๐ It’s usually that moment when you want to quit where all the magic happens ๐ This workout took me about 20-25 minutes to complete. Get your sweat on loves!
Jumping Jacks (starting at garage – 20 reps)
High Knees (to gate and light jog back to garage 75 ft each way)
Rest for 45 second-1 minute
EXERCISE #1 (Repeat 3 times – NO rest in between)
Bear Crawls (to gate – 75 ft) – you should be feeling the burn in your arms
Duck Walk (back to garage – 75 ft) – you should be feeling the burn in your butt/thighs
Rest for 45 second-1 minute
EXERCISE #2 (Repeat 3 times – NO rest in between)
Walking Lunge with Side Twist (to gate – 75 ft)
Sprint Back (back to garage – 75 ft)
Rest for 45 second-1 minute
EXERCISE #3 (Repeat 3 times – NO rest in between)
Squat Jumps (20 reps)
Plank (20 seconds-1 minutes depending on level of advancement) – this link also provides AWESOME variations too if you are more advanced
Rest for 45 second-1 minute
EXERCISE #4 (Repeat 3 times – NO rest in between)
Hip Extension (15 reps per leg)
1-Legged Squat (10-12 per leg)
WOOT WOOT! Walk it out and remember to stretch for your cool down ๐

It’s all it takes! I had a train once tell me that if you are working out correctly you NEVER need to be at the gym for more than 30minutes!
Linh says
Sure right about that ๐

I do yoga which is great for flexibility and building muscle. The principle is to use your own body as weight and work off your own boy weight. But not much cardio involved.
