Also, my blood test results showed that my platelet count was pretty low and the doctor would monitor it and retest me again at 35 weeks. This basically means I am more prone to bleeding during or after birth because my cells won’t clot. Typically, your count should fall btwn 150 and 400 million per millilitre (ml) of blood, but mine was only 114. If it falls below the normal range, it’s called gestational thrombocytopenia. It usually happens in the 3rd trimester and only happens to a small percentage of women, but the levels usually return to normal after the baby is born.
He measured her heartbeat at 158 beats per minute and my belly was roughly 26.5 inches. I must be growing a tiny ninja because she LOVES to kick me all day long.
FEELING: Overall, I have way more energy than my 1st trimester, but with this growing belly, I am getting tired a lot quicker with everyday tasks.
CRAVINGS: Seems like the only things I’m really craving are the things I can’t eat. I REALLY miss sushi (sashimi), steak (cooked medium rare), and sunny side eggs with my toast. There’s a cute little crepe place called Sweet Paris I go to every week after I drop Marli off at school because I am addicted to their Nutella crepe with strawberries & bananas! Yum!
EXERCISE: The weather has been AMAZING so Marli and I will go for long walks or I push her in the stroller. I find that exercising in the morning is so much better for me because I have more energy, feel less heavy, and get less winded.
SLEEPING: Sleeping has officially become so uncomfortable. I can never get completely comfortable because the baby is always nudging and kicking me.
Up to this point, we’ve been seeing him every 4 weeks, but with the due date closing in, we’ll start seeing him more often. (I’ll revisit with him at 30 weeks, then 32, then 34, then every week after that until baby is born.) Looking forward to the next update!
***Also, I will be hosting a GIVEAWAY starting this evening to give away a $100 gift card to Pink Blush Maternity so make sure you’re following me on Instagram for all the details! The entry will be SUPER easy.***

Almost there! And a big “yay” for a negative glucose test! Even thinking about that glucose drink makes me cringe… that thing is definitely nausea inducing.

It tastes like a super sweet orange soda to me. Not my fav drink of choice haha

Are those glucose tests mandatory in the US? I think that would upset anyones stomach – being pregnant it must be even worse! You look so radiant in those pictures <3
Linh says
Good question! I think it is…

I hear ya about sleep becoming so uncomfortable. When I was preggo, that was the worst. No position ever worked and i always had a tonne of pillows and cushions on my bed! lol
Linh says
Yes! I’m surrounded by a sea of pillows when I sleep.

What a fantastic update! I’ve been following you on IG for about a year now. I can’t believe that Marli is getting so big! Being a mother of two girls is so fun. Cherish every second because before you know it they are 13 and 16 like mine! 🙂

Oh wow! I love how this community has brought us together. Marli IS getting so big…very bittersweet.

You have the cutest bump. I remember those sleepless nights, when everyone was telling me to sleep before the baby comes. Easier said than done 🙂
